How to apply?
The awarding of the prestigious ACHS International Medal provides the recipient a strong platform to share their leadership, learnings, and perspectives in patient and quality with the global healthcare community.
To be considered for the ACHS International Medal, you can either be nominated by someone else or apply directly yourself. All nominations and applications must be made in writing through our online form.

Dr. Mostafa Ghalwash is the Chief of Quality at Saudi German Health, where he leads quality and patient safety initiatives across a multihospital network. He has earned this award for his transformative leadership in implementing value-based healthcare, significantly expanding centers of excellence, and spearheading the first ICHOM-accredited framework in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His efforts have resulted in the collection of over 30,000 Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs), setting a national benchmark. With a strong background in accreditation, digital transformation, and clinical governance, Dr. Ghalwash has made a lasting impact on healthcare quality both nationally and internationally.

Taipei Veteran General Hospital, Taiwan
Professor Ying-Ying Yang, Chief of the Department of Medical Education and Executive Secretary of the Clinical Innovation Center at Taipei Veterans General Hospital (TVGH), Taiwan, has been honoured for her outstanding contributions to advancing medical education and clinical innovation through the integration of augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI).
Under her leadership, TVGH has established multiple cutting-edge training centers, including the Clinical VR Classroom and XR Simulation Training and Education Zone. Her team has developed over 20 VR-based tools to enhance shared decision-making and patient education and implemented AR innovations such as smart glasses for surgical training and AI-powered infection control systems. Her work exemplifies both pioneering research and impactful real-world application, significantly improving healthcare quality and patient safety in Taiwan and beyond.
